As science fiction has become a popular genre, and robots and androids have become more and more common in fiction and everyday life, this dissertation examines the representation of robots and androids in animated fiction, focusing specifically on the representation and animation of their facial features. The face is understood as a catalyst for human attention and a mirror of human subjectivity. Ultimately, the essay will attempt to understand whether certain facial designs and animations of facial features are associated with certain narrative models.
