This introductory chapter establishes the book's central theme, situates it within current scholarship, previews each chapter's contribution, and highlights the volume's unique value by explaining gaps it fills and new perspectives it offers.

Abstract
As East Asia and the Middle East show mutual interest in engaging beyond the energy trade dimension which has historically dominated their relations, official government-to-government diplomacy has been complemented by efforts to reach out to other countries’ populations directly through the auspices of public diplomacy with the aim of influencing international perceptions and relationships and coalescing support for their desired foreign policy objectives. This introductory chapter establishes the book's central theme, situates it within current scholarship, previews each chapter's contribution, and highlights the volume's unique value by explaining gaps it fills and new perspectives it offers.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
