The field of dynamers, polymers with dynamic and adaptive properties, is symptomatic of the evolution that chemistry is undergoing both at the technological and the epistemological level. With regard to the latter, we will discuss how the supramolecular approach and the identification of chemical systems with informational systems are in fact changing the disciplinary identity of chemistry.
