In the album entitled Il cantante al microfono (Singer at the Microphone, 2008), Finardi, accompanied by the ensemble “Sentieri selvaggi”, performs a selection of songs written by Vysockij. It is evident that Koni priveredlivye (Picky horses) is a particularly noteworthy piece, in which Finardi succeeds in capturing Vysockij’s poetic essence. This article aims to delve into the thematic and motif-related intricacies of the aforementioned piece, with a view to emphasising its bold and intrepid message.
