In this article, I reflect on the link between spaces that have shaped my view on memory and my current research topic that focuses on artists’ house museums in romance-speaking countries as places of memory. Having grown up in Lebanon, in spaces filled with untold stories, I explain how I learned to communicate with them, whether it’s my own house or my city. I also explain the role that literature has played in the quest to extract narratives buried under the pain caused by the Lebanese civil war. Throughout this article, I present and discuss the questions born out of my previous experiences and that I try to connect to my thesis fieldwork.

Abstract
In this article, I reflect on the link between spaces that have shaped my view on memory and my current research topic that focuses on artists’ house museums in romance-speaking countries as places of memory. Having grown up in Lebanon, in spaces filled with untold stories, I explain how I learned to communicate with them, whether it’s my own house or my city. I also explain the role that literature has played in the quest to extract narratives buried under the pain caused by the Lebanese civil war. Throughout this article, I present and discuss the questions born out of my previous experiences and that I try to connect to my thesis fieldwork.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
