The Perfect Fit: Repositioning Gabriel Severos’ Notes on Aristotelian Logic · As part of the ongoing effort to enhance the collection of Greek manuscripts at the National University Library of Turin – severely damaged in the fire of 1904 – a project has recently been launched to recover, identify, reorganize, and preserve the fragmentary material, which was only partially restored. This article presents the identification and attribution to their original manuscript of a group of fragments which bear dense annotations on logical topics, particularly Aristotelian syllogisms, written by Gabriel Severos, whose library constitutes the core of the Turin collection. The investigation sheds light on Severos’ interest in Aristotle and his exegetical engagement with the philosopher’s works.
