Moving beyond socio-economic impact analyses, the study adopts an anthropological framework inspired by Arnold Gehlen’s philosophy of technology. It then reinterprets Adriano Olivetti’s reflections on work as a spiritually and socially formative activity, capable of grounding human dignity. Finally, drawing on Adriano Bausola’s ethical theory, the article argues for a revaluation of work as a constitutive dimension of human agency, even under conditions of advanced technological automation.

Abstract

Moving beyond socio-economic impact analyses, the study adopts an anthropological framework inspired by Arnold Gehlen’s philosophy of technology. It then reinterprets Adriano Olivetti’s reflections on work as a spiritually and socially formative activity, capable of grounding human dignity. Finally, drawing on Adriano Bausola’s ethical theory, the article argues for a revaluation of work as a constitutive dimension of human agency, even under conditions of advanced technological automation.
