Analysing Persian-Arab mixedness in the Red Sea region during the 19th and 20th centuries, this article examines how digital methods can support the reconstruction of migrant life trajectories and genealogies. It highlights the value of network analysis, data visualization, and digital archiving for tracing biographical connections across space, language, and generations. At the same time, the contribution critically reflects on the limits of existing tools when dealing with fluid identity categories, gendered silences, and multilingual or multiscriptual sources. Within the series, the article emphasizes the epistemological implications of modelling social complexity digitally and moreover argues for adaptable digital humanities infrastructures sensitive to area-specific historical realities.
