This paper examines the genesis of the editio princeps of Gregory of Antioch’s homily In mulieres unguentiferas, published in Greek by François Combefis in 1648. Through a systematic collation of the printed text with the surviving manuscript tradition, the study identifies Paris. gr. 772 as the most probable source used by Combefis and sheds light on the editorial methods underlying the first Greek edition of the homily.
