The article examines the features of the formation of grammatical terminology in the Church Slavonic, Armenian, and Georgian traditions within the context of linguistic and cultural contacts. Drawing on some case studies (the accusative case, etymology, and the narrative case), it shows that similarities in terminology may result either from a more or less accurate interpretation of a common source or from mutual influence and subsequent reinterpretation. Particular attention is paid to cases of semantic shift and misunderstanding of the original Greek terms already at early stages of their external and internal reception, as well as to the mechanical adaptation of an established case designation to fill an empty slot in the paradigm of another language. The analysis demonstrates that the formation and development of grammatical concepts is shaped not only by the internal logic of linguistic description but also by intensive cultural and translational interaction.
