This introduction examines enchantment as a mode of experience rooted in the performative, rhythmic, and resonant power of voice. Beginning with the semantic history of the Italian term *incanto*, it traces the passage from magical utterance to aesthetic fascination, poetic suspension, and collective attachment. Against the modern paradigm of disenchantment, understood as rationalization, calculability, and symbolic impoverishment, the essay considers the persistence and transformation of enchantment in contemporary societies. Particular attention is devoted to the separation of voice from body through digital technologies and artificial intelligence, which generates both renewed wonder and an erosion of the link between sound, presence, truth, and responsibility. The introduction distinguishes private forms of fascination from shared forms of symbolic belonging and argues that modernity has often privatized rather than eliminated enchantment. Drawing on theories of vibration and resonance, it proposes consonance as a model of social relation capable of coordinating differences without suppressing them. Enchantment is thus redefined neither as nostalgic regression nor as collective intoxication, but as a responsible, embodied, and non-coercive form of resonance through which subjects, communities, technologies, and environments may enter into meaningful relation.

Abstract
Enchantment is thus redefined neither as nostalgic regression nor as collective intoxication, but as a responsible, embodied, and non-coercive form of resonance through which subjects, communities, technologies, and environments may enter into meaningful relation.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
