This editorial paper provides a preface of the NAMAS special issue. It collects selected contributions on various topics of computational and applied mathematics, which concern different fields of numerical analysis and its applications, focusing on the description and analysis of new methods and algorithms for the solution of scientific and engineering problems. This issue has been addressed to all scientists who have worked in the above-mentioned research areas, also including the participants in the NAMAS-24 Conference.
