The check-list of spider species of Aosta Valley is here presented. At present 29 families, 128 genera and 261 species are known for this region. The first work ever written that includes records of spider species in Aosta Valley dates back to 1890 and, unfortunately, in more than one century, knowledge has not grown rapidly. Only 19 works have been found in literature and only 5 of them report more than 30 species records. 53 new records are here added from unpublished material, including a new species for Italy, Pardosa schenkeli (Lessert, 1904).
