In this paper we propose an original method for the synthesis of a MgB2 superconductor. The experimental methodology is based on a process that exploits heating with microwave radiation. The results show the formation of a polycrystalline bulk compound. However, it exhibits superconducting properties like other samples realized with different techniques. It shows a Tc onset over 38 K and a Jc (estimate by means of magnetic measurements) of about 2.8 *10^4 A/cm2.
