A final result in the appendix, due to A. Collino, pertains to a very general quartic K3 surface S. There it is shown that there exists a one-dimensional family of elements \alpha_t 2 \in CH^3(S, 2) supported on a smooth hyperplane section of S, such that t is indecomposable (modulo the image of Pic(S) \otimes K_2(C)) for very general t.
