The sensory abnormalities in patients with cerebral infarction may be limited to small areas, mimicking a peripheral distribution. We describe a patient with right arm pain, numbness and burning sensation on right forearm and hand, and a highly restricted sensory loss to the ulnar side of the hand, resembling the sensory pattern observed in the compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow. The brain MRI revealed a left small ischemic lesion at the level of the midportion of the postcentral gyrus in the territory of a parietal branch of the middle cerebral artery.

Abstract
The sensory abnormalities in patients with cerebral infarction may be limited to small areas, mimicking a peripheral distribution. We describe a patient with right arm pain, numbness and burning sensation on right forearm and hand, and a highly restricted sensory loss to the ulnar side of the hand, resembling the sensory pattern observed in the compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow. The brain MRI revealed a left small ischemic lesion at the level of the midportion of the postcentral gyrus in the territory of a parietal branch of the middle cerebral artery.File in questo prodotto:
