Abstract
The reduction of genetic variability in cultivated species threaten the future work of breeding. In Piedmont, many old varieties and ecotypes are disappearing, replaced by new cultivars. The latter are more yielding but less adapted to specific environments. A work aimed at exploration, collection, characterization and storage of horticultural germplasm, carried on by DI.VA.P.R.A. (University of Turin) with the co-operation of Piedmont Region and Ass.Pro.Frut. is described.File in questo prodotto:
