The authors describe from the anatomo-pathological point of view, tumors of the gallbladder in 5 out of 64 chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) from the Maritime Alps (Parco Naturale Argentera, Cuneo, Italy). The lesions were localised only in the gallbladder wall without apparent metastases and, as viewed by light and electron microscopy, seem attributable to an adenomatous process. Finally, some etiopathological aspects are discussed.

Abstract

The authors describe from the anatomo-pathological point of view, tumors of the gallbladder in 5 out of 64 chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) from the Maritime Alps (Parco Naturale Argentera, Cuneo, Italy). The lesions were localised only in the gallbladder wall without apparent metastases and, as viewed by light and electron microscopy, seem attributable to an adenomatous process. Finally, some etiopathological aspects are discussed.
