Abstract

Electrophysiological techniques were used to study active ion transport across the skin in larval, pedomorphic and metamorphosed alpine newts (Triturus alpestris apuanus). Data were compared with morphological and histoenzymological studies (alkaline phosphatase) in the skin of the same animals.
