A PCR-RFLP method for genotyping the myostatin locus in Piemontese cattle is described. Compared to the procedures previously proposed, this alternative method has the advantage of requiring only basic equipment and reagents, making it possible for almost any laboratory to routinely genotype the myostatin locus in Piemontese cattle.

Abstract
A PCR-RFLP method for genotyping the myostatin locus in Piemontese cattle is described.
