Metodi di ricerca e di gestione finalizzati alla conservazione della trota marmorata

Research and strategies for the management and conservation of Marble trout Diagnostic and research tools for the investigation on wild fish populations rapidly improved in the last decades. In the same time, the conservation and the management of the autochthonous freshwater fishes became one of the main issue to face, due to the presence of allochthonous species and hybridisation but also water pollution and habitat loss in the natural freshwater environment. The harmful effects of fish restocking and inadequate fishing management contributes to determined the loss of endemic and autochthonous fish strains but also the increase of the genetic introgression in wild trout populations. Basing on the results of ten years studies across the range distribution of the marble trout, the guidelines for the recovery, conservation and the management of the original wild fish population are proposed. Sampling and monitoring methods, investigation tools and management strategies are suggested to make compatible fishing and other exploitative activities with the conservation of original wild fish populations.
