Childish drawings derive form the representation of movement symnbolised by scribbles and, therefore, from the transformation of the lines that progressively become the contours of the images. The child is first attracted vy the dynamic aspects of the objects, and as a matter of fact scribbles translate the "actions", the "noises", the "quality" of reality. Thus, the achievement of the figurative scheme has to be considered in the light of the child's skill to fantasise with the objects of the world. The drawings as a representation becomes a game experience when fantasy substitutes objective reality.

Abstract

Childish drawings derive form the representation of movement symnbolised by scribbles and, therefore, from the transformation of the lines that progressively become the contours of the images. The child is first attracted vy the dynamic aspects of the objects, and as a matter of fact scribbles translate the "actions", the "noises", the "quality" of reality. Thus, the achievement of the figurative scheme has to be considered in the light of the child's skill to fantasise with the objects of the world. The drawings as a representation becomes a game experience when fantasy substitutes objective reality.
