This work demonstrates that in the postnatal cerebellum two different apoptotic pathways occur, affecting the CGCs at different stages of their maturation. In the IGL the apoptotic pathway is ‘‘classically’’ executed by caspases, with cleavage of caspase 3 and PARP-1 as the major endpoint events. In the EGL apoptosis appears to be caspase-independent and involves the activation/inactivation of certain checkpoint proteins and, most likely, some mitochondrial factors such as the apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) (Susin et al., 1999)

Abstract
This work demonstrates that in the postnatal cerebellum two different apoptotic pathways occur, affecting the CGCs at different stages of their maturation. In the IGL the apoptotic pathway is ‘‘classically’’ executed by caspases, with cleavage of caspase 3 and PARP-1 as the major endpoint events. In the EGL apoptosis appears to be caspase-independent and involves the activation/inactivation of certain checkpoint proteins and, most likely, some mitochondrial factors such as the apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) (Susin et al., 1999)File in questo prodotto:
