The last decades testify to the increased interest in translating the Greek version of the Hebrew Bible (the Septuagint), which was translated for the Jews speaking Greek and later became the Christian Bible. This article examines the German translation that has just appeared, the first complete in this language (Septuaginta Deutsch, Stuttgart, Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft, 2009, edited by W. Kraus and M. Karrer).
