Wood-Based Panels for Special Applications

Wood based panels have many special uses. The products can be determined and specified in accordance with the requirements of the particular end use. Whilst there are many standards relating to specific applications, few of these include specific requirements for panel products and the specifier therefore has to decide upon the panel type that is most likely to meet his performance criteria. In some cases, the specifier may have the option of using one of the many general purpose panels or of selecting a product manufactured specifically for the end-use. The work introduces special applications of wood based composites including the development of marine vehicles in terms of the evolution of materials and wood based compositions.
