In this paper we present a new technique to prove the boundedness of localization operators on Wiener amalgam spaces and, in particular, on L^p spaces. This proof is short and simple, and, it considerably shortens the preliminaries to get the boundedness results contained in a previous paper of the authors. Then, we briefly survey the optimal results for these operators to be bounded on the aforementioned spaces.
