Diurnal changes in stomatal conductance (SC), leaf (LWP) and stem water potential (SWP) were measured on Cortese (grafted on Kober 5 BB) trained on 4 different trellis systems: traditional upright system (TUS), central curtain, Y trellis and double curtain. Most of the day LWP was lower and SWP to LWP gradient was higher in the TUS than in all others. SC of the different systems was similar and diurnal changes of the osmotic potential were small as well as differences between trellis systems. The TUS had both lower yield and sugar production. Authors conclude that training systems can affect yield and must quality vs. changes in plant water relations.

Abstract
Diurnal changes in stomatal conductance (SC), leaf (LWP) and stem water potential (SWP) were measured on Cortese (grafted on Kober 5 BB) trained on 4 different trellis systems: traditional upright system (TUS), central curtain, Y trellis and double curtain. Most of the day LWP was lower and SWP to LWP gradient was higher in the TUS than in all others. SC of the different systems was similar and diurnal changes of the osmotic potential were small as well as differences between trellis systems. The TUS had both lower yield and sugar production. Authors conclude that training systems can affect yield and must quality vs. changes in plant water relations.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
