Abstract

In this study the concept of semiosphere and of secondary modellization, elaborated by Lotman, are read in the light of his “silence”. This interpretation proposes namely that Lotman’s research of the culture secondary character depends on the requirement to be silent about the impossibility of an ideological pronouncement. From this idea derives that Lotman’s semiotic coluld be not only as de-politicised, bat also de-aesthetized.
