This paper analyses the role played by the “Rivista delle Società Commerciali” in the Italian economic policy debate till the end of 1920, when it was transformed into the “Rivista di Politica Economica”. The first section of the paper analyses the Italian economic and institutional context. It then deals with the main policy debates promoted by the journal: among them, industrial policy, the reform of the corporate law, the choice between free trade and protectionism, the labour-management relations
