This paper examines phytohyms in the postcolonial literary contexts of Malta and India and investigates the various lexical trasformations of English botanical terms. The flora words that appear in some selected texts written by Anglophone authors convey specific cultural meanings and references and constitue a challenge for the reader/translator.

Abstract
