Abstract

Three years ago, the editors of this journal asked us to edit a special issue on complexity economics. We were happy to comply, since both of us identify ourselves with the emerging transdisciplinary research community described by its practitioners as «the science[s] of complex systems» or «complexity science», and we welcomed the opportunity to organize a discussion on the actual and potential impact on economics of the ideas and methods that this community has generated.
