In the present essay the space of the organisation is defined as a script, that is as a complex of designed spaces the function of which is to elicit a specific set of behavioural patterns within the organisation itself. This definition aims to account for the fact that the organisational culture is embedded not only within the social interactions that take place within the organisation, but also within the shared organisational spaces that provide the frame for those interactions. Further, it allows for a better understanding of the way in which specific control structures work within the organisation.
