Abstract

Our article is a feasibility study investigating the physical and metabolic loads which the grinder on an America’s Cup boat is exposed to. Tests were performed using telemetric electromyography, spirometry, an eight-camera optoelectronic system, and physical examination in a simulated task. The experimental study showed that these methods, usually performed in a laboratory, may work on board as well.
