In this paper we describe Drepanellus gen. n. (subtribe Drepanocerina) from the Afrotropical Region. The new genus includes three species: Drepanellus laticollis comb. n. (formerly placed in the genus Drepanocerus Kirby), and two new species, Drepanellus simonisi sp. n. and D. nicolasi sp. n., that are identified and described here. Lectotype of D. laticollis is designated here. We also provide the key to these species, as well as distribution and ecological notes inferred from collection data.
