To analyse the results of basic physical tests given to 94 athletes who practice the sport of Sail and that are part of different classes (Techno 293, 29er and Hobie Cat), with an age included into 14 and 16 years and evaluate what of these sporting specialty is the most performing, due to the different technical and physical training methods. 94 athletes divided in gender (F=27 and M=67), specialty (29er + Hobie Cat=49 - Techno 293=45) and age (14 15 16 years), have been exposed to six basic physical tests, chosen into the Eurofit Protocol. For the statistical analyse it has been used only the best result of each test for each athlete, since the study wants to obtain dates of best performing. Through a comparison between the means, the sailing categories have been compared. The statistical results demonstrate that it doesn’t exist a uniformity if only the different ages are considered. None of these ages, indeed, demonstrates to have the best performing. The different rhythm of the physical and psychological development that characterises these ages and the differences that can be observed between the two genders could be the reason of this discrepancy. If, however, also the gender and the sporting specialty are considered, it results that surfers (Techno 293), male and female, are the class with the best performance among others. They have reached the better results in each test. Another factor that could be considered in name of these differences is the competitive level of the athletes. Into the sample there are athletes that have different agonistic experiences, that means from the national competition participation until the world competition one, with different placing into the charts and, as a consequence, a different athletic level.
