Many studies report a cognitive decline in patients who present with epileptic status during sleep. These data refer to global IQ and specific functions. We report results regarding patients affected by benign or cryptogenetic partial Epilepsy, in whom focal spikes are incremented and diffused during sleep, who show normal IQ, but significant deficit in visuo- spatial analysis and concentration (attention and memory). This deficit is independent from the percentage of EEG activation.

Abstract
Many studies report a cognitive decline in patients who present with epileptic status during sleep. These data refer to global IQ and specific functions. We report results regarding patients affected by benign or cryptogenetic partial Epilepsy, in whom focal spikes are incremented and diffused during sleep, who show normal IQ, but significant deficit in visuo- spatial analysis and concentration (attention and memory). This deficit is independent from the percentage of EEG activation.File in questo prodotto:
