Top athletes of sport disciplines counteracting terrestrial gravity generally show low level of postural entropy and therefore maximum postural stability in single stance. In a composition sport like Rhythmic Gymnastics, athletes have to solve very difficult postural tasks performing the "figures". The purpose of this study was to assess static and dynamic postural strategies of the Italian National Team suggesting specific training to refine postural strategies and minimize the entropy. The results show that subjects are characterized by a prevalent proprioceptive strategy and low visual dependence. The visual- proprioceptive strategy is less refined while the vestibular strategy is high. This vestibular component could be explained considering that this discipline imposes a high use of compensation movements. In conclusion a specific visual-proprioceptive training could reduce the athlete entropy improving technical performances.
