Abstract

A characterization of the organic components in municipal treatment sludges is developed by the use of different instrumental techniques, namely HPLC and size-exclusion chromatography, infra-red spectroscopy, nuclear-magnetic resonance spectroscopy, inductively-coupled plasma atomic-emission spectroscopy, graphite-furnace atomic-absorption spectroscopy and thermogravimetric methods.
