Katarina Zavišin TEACHING ITALIAN AS A FUNCTION OF CLIL Summary Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) involves teaching one or more subjects in a foreign language , where a foreign language has a mediating role in the transfer of educational content. As in the previous literature, the problem of teaching foreign language in the CLIL classes has not been sufficiently addressed, so we will work to compare the theoretical basis of CLIL teaching with classes of Italian language in the Third Belgrade High School. The aim of this paper is an attempt to compare theoretical basis for CLIL teaching and practices in order to take up some positive aspects, as well as eventual deficiencies in the current mode. We also hope to point to new directions in teaching Italian language in the context of bilingual education.
