Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) refers to the teaching of one or more subjects in a foreign language where the foreign language has the mediating role in the transmission of educational contents. In this paper we compare the theoretical basis of the CLIL teaching with the teaching practice of history in Italian in the Third Belgrade Secondary School by using presentations of one teaching unit. The aim of this work is to review the positive aspects and possible deficiencies of the current teaching practice by comparing it to the theoretical basis of the CLIL teaching, and also to point out some new guidelines in a bilingual classroom.
