Bulgaria, widely covered by hills and mountains, has known significant achievements in the field of mountain tourism and hospitality. In this context, the figure of the Bulgarian mountain huts could play an important role in order to flow the tourist industry to the concepts of sustainability. The paper aims at presenting a preliminary analysis carried out on two Bulgarian mountain huts, located in national parks. The research was focused on the environmental preliminary analysis, to verify the opportunity of adopting and contextualising a methodology for the characterization of mountain huts, firstly elaborated and tested in the North-West Italian area.
