This chapter explores the reciprocal relationships among bacteria. Antagonism and cooperation will be described from a molecular standpoint including cross-talk molecules such as quorum-sensing peptides and bacteriocins, as well as genetic exchange mechanisms bringing updated evidence. Biofilms and synthrophies will be considered at the biochemical level describing end-product interference, biochemical pathway modulation and social behaviors connected with biofilm evolution.

Abstract
This chapter explores the reciprocal relationships among bacteria. Antagonism and cooperation will be described from a molecular standpoint including cross-talk molecules such as quorum-sensing peptides and bacteriocins, as well as genetic exchange mechanisms bringing updated evidence. Biofilms and synthrophies will be considered at the biochemical level describing end-product interference, biochemical pathway modulation and social behaviors connected with biofilm evolution.File in questo prodotto:
