Abstract – Analysis of precipitation and assessment of climate change in the Paranà river basin. This research addresses issues related to changes in the amounts of rainfall during the period 1986-2011 in the Paraná River basin, Brazil, to identify the trends of these changes through 11 climate indices created by ETCCDMI (RX1day; RX5day; SDII; R10mm; R20mm; R95mm; CDD; CWD; R95p, R99p; PRCPTOT), both applied for 32 meteorological stations belonging to the National Meteorology Institute of Brazil (INMET). We can observe an increase in the number of wet days in the most part of the basin, and an increase in total precipitation (PRCPTOT) in almost all the stations analyzed, and the extreme rainfall (R95p and R99p) were the main contributors to such additions.
