The paper is based on the concept of territory as a privileged educational environment to deal with the relationship between citizenship and inter-culture in urban spaces in a trans-disciplinary perspective. The perspective of education through the territory first of all takes place in the reality of places and territorial structures where it is possible to identify tangible signs of the integration and inclusion processes just as phenomena of exclusion and marginalisation. The concepts of citizenship and cross-culture are today all the more interconnected, particularly in the spatial dimension of urban spaces, connoted by the contemporary presence of different ethnic groups and cultures. Elaborating the spatial dimension of the concept of citizenship contributes to developing skills for new intercultural relations in the context of the city as the engine of people, goods, information and ideas.
