This paper proposes an analysis of the Aquinas thought about the passion and death of Christ (Summa Theologiae, III, qq. 46-52, in particular q. 46). The article is based on two viewpoints: 1. the problem of Christ's passions, focused on taedium (read as the passion of dereliction); 2. the problem of relationship between Father and Son during passion and death of Christ, focused on the words visio and fruitio Dei (read as acts of ratio superior that express the relationship between Christ's humanity and God).
