The therapy of ear, nose and throat (ENT) bacterial infections is generally based on the use of antibiotics: in a first time, antibiotic therapy is necessarily empiric, as such infections are usually surgically founded; indeed, for the specialist, the necessity of knowing epidemiologic and pharmacologic problems connected to the antibiotic therapy arises. The gold standard of antibiotic therapy is represented by: eradication of the pathology, rapid symptomatology resolution, rapid infectiveness resolution, minimization and prevention of side effects and complications. The actual pharmacologie treatment has improved the course and recovery of many ENT diseases, lately an increase of new features and therapeutic perspectives occurred. This spread combined with a wide antibiotic misuse, took to a worrying increase of microbic resistance to common antibiotics. The aim of this work is to give therapeutical tools for the main ENT diseases in the light of the most updated international guidelines, after having analized the problems connected to the progressive increase of bacterial resistance phenomenon; in the conclusion, the orientations and the future perspectives about antibiotic therapy are treated.

Abstract
The aim of this work is to give therapeutical tools for the main ENT diseases in the light of the most updated international guidelines, after having analized the problems connected to the progressive increase of bacterial resistance phenomenon; in the conclusion, the orientations and the future perspectives about antibiotic therapy are treated.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
