The essay retraces the relationship between Mario Bonfantini and Ludovico Ariosto from different points of view: Bonfantini reader of other publications about the Orlando Furioso and Bonfantini literary critic on his own about Ariosto. Bonfantini’s critical pages let us guess, in the name of literature, but not only, the striking link between the “professor” of Novara and Ariosto.
