Abstract
The archaeological excavation of Orgères (La Thuile-AO, Italy) is located at 1665 m. of altitude, at the confluence of the Vallon des Orgères with the Vallon des Chavannes near the Piccolo San Bernardo. The distinctive nature of a mountain settlement characterized by a notable dynamism, linked to a valley economy partly documented by written sources and now also by archaeological ones, helps to implement a reconstruction of the historical landscape of the area. Despite the undeniable complexity of interpretation related to the continuous reuse of some structures and the lack of dated artefacts, it was possible to identify a chronology between the 1st century AD and the seventeenth-eighteenth centuries. This time frame includes the early and late medieval periods.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
