The aim of the this paper is to analyse the poetic work of George Bacovia (1881-1956) from the point of view of a possible “poetics of space” in the context of late modernity. Such poetics is brought in discussion in terms of a “topography of dislocation”, which is to be understood in two ways: (i) as “location” in a “non-place”, that is, dwelling in a place fundamentally conventional, groundless and “not your own”, and (ii) as “location” in a “displace”, that is, dwelling in a “place” which is monstrous and essentially hostile. Said dysphoric feeling of place, masterly exemplified by the symbolism of Lacustră [Lacustrian], is analysed through the lens of the polarization between the “city” and the “desert”. In conclusion, the poetics of space in Bacovia is traced back to a fundamentally “anarchic” vision of reality.

Abstract
In conclusion, the poetics of space in Bacovia is traced back to a fundamentally “anarchic” vision of reality.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
