This chapter aims at describing the emerging medium of augmented reality through an examination of its topological dimension and its pragmatic functioning. Starting from the case of urban-based interactive storytelling, the idea of the web as topological space will be revisited, in order to simultaneously study the physical and virtual spatiality, as well as the writing and reading processes of the geo-localized data produced in a place. To emerge will not just a location-based model of user experience, but a more general user-centered interaction scheme, in which the spatial dimension plays an organizational and often thematical role in the actual user experience.

Abstract
This chapter aims at describing the emerging medium of augmented reality through an examination of its topological dimension and its pragmatic functioning. Starting from the case of urban-based interactive storytelling, the idea of the web as topological space will be revisited, in order to simultaneously study the physical and virtual spatiality, as well as the writing and reading processes of the geo-localized data produced in a place. To emerge will not just a location-based model of user experience, but a more general user-centered interaction scheme, in which the spatial dimension plays an organizational and often thematical role in the actual user experience.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
